Would you dare on the first day of spring ?
Happy spring equinox ! There are some buds on the trees, the mockingbirds are singing their hearts out and it was snowing this morning. Oh well. But you can wear a bit of spring on your head ! Some of these cool hats are just what is needed to bring some warm feelings into your life, and hopefully some warm compliments.

Bitchin' Barracuda
Now that I finally figured out how to Mobile Blog I thought it would be an interesting idea to
show case the vintage and rustic in my neighbhorhood.
And this beauty is one of my favorite cars ! It's a Plymouth Barracuda fast back circa early 1960's. You can tell it was one of the first muscle cars, but still has some of those 1950's elements to it.
Everyday I see this car and drool. I imagine Lux Interior (RIP) driving around in it. I'll get some good interior shot and show you what I mean.

Finding the Rustic in Brooklyn
I am on my feet all day, walking around my neighborhood of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. I am fortunate to live in such a wonderful and historic area of Brooklyn, since there is much to be inspired by for someone of my sensibilities. Every once and a while I come across a wonderful scene that looks like it was plucked out of history or out of the rustic Adirondacks. Surrounding Fort Greene Park is this old stone wall. A few days ago, after some heavy rains I noticed a wonderful bloom of moss covering the surface of the wall. I guess at times I am torn between where I eventually want to live... Brooklyn or the Backwoods... then I find a reason to be in both.
Ideas for Flea Market Finds
At a friends house I saw this wonderful idea for an old wagon... use it near the fireplace to store
wood. These old wagons like Radio Flyers, etc are really collectable, but since they are sort of large, they are hard to place in small Brooklyn apartments. But putting a wonderful find like this to good use gives this much loved childhood toy a second life.

Vintage Planters
Planters Planters Planters !!!!
We are adding a ton of new vintage kitsch planters to our Undestination store in celebration of spring. Every year at this time I like to buy Hyacinth and let their perfume fill up my home. There are some wonderful farmer's markets in Brooklyn where I get them, but I have seen them in Home Depot and Lowe's also. I think these planters would be a great way to display these bulbs and bring some much needed springtime indoors.
These planters tend to not be too deep and a vigorous growing house plant might easily out grow them. But a small succulent or cactus which has it's own unique scultural element is a fun solution. Just be sure to place them in a sunny window !

Been A long time !
Some new changes to Undestination have occured of late. The Etsy store has now been revamped and new items are going to be added several times of week. I have a new partner in my venture and hope that this means doubling our efforts to make this adventure into the world of vintage and rustic more lucritive.
We have one more month till the Brooklyn Flea season begins.... so far no too happy about the weather since right now it is snowing heavily in NYC. Will mother nature cooperate this flea season? We'll see.
And on a sad note, my best friend and avatar, Dora the pitbull died suddenly last week at age 12 of a sudden heart attack. She was a great companion on my journeys around stoop sales and garage sales in Brooklyn. She waited patiently in the car, with the AC on of course, guarding my precious loot. Her reward was a trip to Prospect Park and a stuffed toy we would find at a sale.
I will miss her terribly.
